Why Candles?

Why candles, you're a resin artist?

I've been getting asked this question a lot lately and for me, it was the perfect next step in my artistic endeavor.

After the loss of my daughter Alaia Valentina at 15 months old, art became my therapy. Then the pandemic hit and dealing with the grief proved more difficult than expected. My usual outlet just wasn't enough so I began to search for other mediums to help distract my racing mind. I came across a candle kit by TheHobbyistBox on Etsy one night and It was LOVE at first pour!

There was something about melting the wax, getting lost in picking and mixing the scents and finally enjoying my hard work by lighting the perfect candle. It was extremely therapeutic.

I was hooked and I knew I had to find a way to combine my first love of resin with my new love of making candles. After experimenting a bit I discovered I could make my beautiful signature resin waves on the bamboo lids of candle vessels!

Then in a perfect serendipitous moment I came across The Adalyn Rose Foundation

" The Adalyn Rose Foundation serves families grieving the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or during infancy.  ARF provides financial support for burial or cremation costs and offers continuous emotional support at the time of and following a loss. The foundation sends care packages to bereaved parents and siblings, hosts groups and events for families and brings awareness to pregnancy and infant loss. Adam and Chloe launched ARF in honor of their daughter Adalyn, who they lost unexpectedly during pregnancy. "

I followed them on social media and you don't know how much you need people like Adam & Chloe in this world.. until you do. I was so moved and touched by how they were helping so many families through something so difficult that I vowed right away I would help them any way I could.

I reached out to them and I am proud to say that a percent of every candle sale will go to their foundation so that they can continue to grow and help as many families as possible.

I have been testing and working on these one of a kind candles for almost a year. I've spent months testing every wax, wick and fragrance, even creating my own scents for certain vessels and I am so excited to finally share them with you.

I invite you to explore my collection of hand painted Ceramic, Glass and Concrete vessels with carefully curated clean scents in luxurious Coco Apricot Creme Wax.
